If you’re looking for a casual and cute RPG that channels you’re inner Hogwarts Legacy, then the delightful The Cauldron Kids: The Summoning of Mr. Vermicelli might be your cup of tea.
When Hogwarts Legacy was initially released in February 2023, it became one of the biggest games of its time, receiving rave reviews across the board and even making more money than some of the Harry Potter movies. Sadly for Hogwarts Legacy, it missed out on major gongs at The Game Awards as well as other ceremonies largely due to how many great games were released in 2023 such as Badlur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and much more.

Developed by indie studio Pet Golem Games, The Cauldron Kids: The Summoning of Mr. Vermicelli not only has a magical theme similar to Hogwarts Legacy, but its cute visuals are somewhat reminiscent of the indie darling Stardew Valley. “You're a six-year-old witch and today, you're home alone: turn the house upside-down, play games with your sister, race to other dimensions and bewitch your plushie in this charming short narrative RPG!” reads the description on the Steam store.

The Cauldron Kids: The Summoning of Mr. Vermicelli only has a short playtime of one to two hours, which could be ideal for multiple completions especially for its low cost of £4.29, when not on sale. It also comes with a plethora of accessibility options such as re-bindable keys, dialogue speech options, easier mini-games and more.
Despite the game only releasing very recently, it’s already garnered positive user reviews on Steam. “This game is short but it's packed to the brim with funny dialogue and interactions,” said Artnotes11. “I already finished my first playthrough but I'll definitely replay it a couple of times just to see the cutscenes and jokes I missed. Both of its playable characters have a very different perspective on the environment, which makes it fun to walk around the house looking for things you can interact with.”
“This game is soooo cute and funny! The little witch girls are precious,” exclaimed picopup. “Charming game and an absolute treat!” Goose Towne said. “I love this game so much and I really need more of this. Please,” declared a joyous Waddles.
The Cauldron Kids: The Summoning of Mr. Vermicelli is available now for both PC and Mac.
