Hogwarts Legacy has regularly received new updates since releasing a few months ago, with the latest quietly adding new cosmetics.
The success of Hogwarts Legacy has been outstanding, to say the least. Not only has the game made over $1 billion across several platforms, but it’s also making more money than the Harry Potter films it’s based on. Combine that with a dedicated playerbase committed to exploring every inch of Hogwarts and the surrounding areas, and it’s clear to see the game has been an overwhelming success.
Despite the disappointment with cut content, like a morality system with hilarious repercussions for dark magic usage, and a lack of Quidditch, fans are seemingly happy with what the game has to offer. But that hasn’t stopped Avalanche Software from rolling out new content through patches.

Aside from big fixes, previous updates have occasionally brought in new cosmetics, as well as some additions to the open world. The latest patch is no different, and actually adds some new gear for your character to equip during exploration.
This was spotted by Reddit user TheGrizzlyBen, who made a post saying “I noticed this after the latest update but I'm surprised no one else seems to have mentioned it. If you check your gear appearances we now have the original tan coat and outfit our character was wearing at the very start of the game.”
Other players confirmed the addition, one of which stated: “The Rugged Overcoat and Common Victorian Garb were actually added to our Appearance list in one of the previous patches, but characters created before that patch would not have access to them. Now every character has them!”

The update also came with several fixes for glitches and bugs, including some that were negatively affecting quest progression.
While the new content has been appreciated by fans, many are still holding out hope for a more significant expansion, whether it be a story DLC, or the aforementioned Quidditch game.
In the meantime, many players have been taking matters into their own hands, and adding the content they’d like to see themselves in the form of mods. So far, modders have added new rideable dragon mounts, more combat spells and items like the Sword of Gryffindor, and a wanted system that makes the game more like Bully.
