Warner Bros. have made it clear that a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is a priority, even if it’s not something that’s formally been unveiled or announced.
Personally, I’d love to know what happened to that supposed Director’s Cut.
That project was first brought to light by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, a reliable source, with Schrier explaining that Rocksteady developers had been drafted in to help following the dire launch of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

I’d imagine that the Director’s Cut would seek to restore features which clearly didn’t make the final release, including the companion system so many players continue to yearn for.
Surely it’d also have to include some substantial DLC to make it worth fan’s while?
Perhaps the project will officially surface soon but fans aren’t holding their breaths.
Instead, they’ve taken to discussing the game’s potential sequel, namely, debating where it should be set.

Enjoy a relaxing tour of Hogwarts’ four house common rooms. You’ll need four playthroughs to explore them all in-game.
The idea that’s gained the most traction comes from Reddit user vetterken, with the post garnering several hundred upvotes.
“Hear me out,” they wrote.

“It's Triwizard Cup time and another school is hosting. New school and environment, because we've seen Hogwarts in the first installment. Of course, we get selected and that's when hell breaks loose.”
I’m a big fan of this idea. I feel as if a new school setting is a must to prevent the game from feeling stale but if we’re to play as the same main character, we need a reason to explain why we’re suddenly at a new school.
The Triwizard tournament would be the perfect excuse.
“A Triwizard Tournament sequel sounds great imo,” replied pixelpunkz, while dtphilip added, “An interesting concept. I always wanted to see the universe take on how other schools look like.”

“I think this actually sounds really fun. I'd love to see Ilvermorny and learn some of the other common spells like reducto and expulso,” agreed littleghool.
Many users pointed out that the Triwzard Tournament wasn’t canonically held during this time period but there are ways to write around that.
Perhaps there was a predecessor known by another name and it was wiped from memory after the event went terribly wrong one year … the year we’re involved.
You surely must see the vision.

Of course, we have no idea what Avalanche Software is planning but if it’s something along these lines, plenty of people would be happy. It doesn’t mean we have to leave Hogwarts behind for the entirety of the game.
