It is hard to believe that Hogwarts Legacy has almost been out for two years already but in that time, Avalanche Software is yet to bring the fans one thing they yearn for.
First released in February last year, Hogwarts Legacy went on to become the best-selling game of 2023 as players headed to Hogwarts to see what it would be like to be a magical student.
So far, fans have just received a summer update for Hogwarts Legacy.
Taking place in the iconic castle as well as surrounding areas such as Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts Legacy was a hit, despite the controversy surrounding its release, and still hosts a pretty substantial player base to this day.

However, with just one big summer update under its belt, fans are calling out for Christmas to come to Hogwarts.
If you are a fan of the original movie series then you will know that Christmas is a spectacular time of year with the Great Hall being decorated and snow falling over the streets of Hogsmeade.
However, Avalanche Software is yet to add a Christmas update to Hogwarts Legacy despite fans calling out for it for the past two years.
To be clear, the castle and surrounding areas do receive a Christmas themed overlay during the winter portion of the game, but there's little in the way of festive activities.

The topic was brought up over on r/HogwartsLegacyGaming on at least two separate occasions.
One user posted, “I wish we could get a December update,” with another calling for “new game content during Christmas”.
“I admit I’m quite sceptical, but I still have a bit of hope that the developers will give us something during the Christmas season, even if it’s something small, like a new Christmas theme, with more decorations inside and outside Hogwarts, more snow, etc. I’m not expecting anything big, just small stuff, which nonetheless is something new.”
However, with the news that Avalanche Software is sacrificing any potential DLC in favour of working on Hogwarts Legacy 2, such an update is not on the cards.

It seems like Christmas will not be coming to Hogwarts this time around but who knows, maybe it will arrive with the highly-anticipated sequel.
