Fans are still lamenting over a lack of Hogwarts Legacy DLC, and to make matters worse, the potential for one is already in the game, it’s just not unlocked yet.
Hogwarts Legacy isn’t as popular as it once was, as the ones who played through it have moved on to other titles, and the ones that stuck around are just aimlessly exploring and occasionally coming across a secret.

While the game scored favourably amongst critics and players, despite its association to J.K Rowling, many have called it a missed opportunity when it comes to new content.

One player wrote a post about the lack of DLC, calling it a “shame,” as it has many redeeming qualities despite its flaws.
Another player commented and said they'd love to see an expansion that would let the player “cast a Patronus and fight Dementors,” going on to say “that would be a fun side quest.”
However in a surprising twist, it turns out this content is in fact already in the game, it’s just inaccessible.
Another comment followed up saying, “Dementors already have their own 3D model & their own movement animation in the game, we also have the animation of casting Expecto Patronum in the game but our main character cannot learn to use this spell.”

Whether the developer has plans to release this content at a later date remains a mystery, as there are already rumblings of a Hogwarts Legacy 2 being in the works.
Many players feel the lack of new content for the first game is down to the multiple ports to other platforms, with some blaming the delayed port to the Nintendo Switch as one of the primary reasons DLC hasn’t been made yet.
Who knows though, maybe the next few months will finally yield some sort of expansion for Hogwarts Legacy, or at least news on a sequel.
