Hogwarts Legacy could be set for a big return later this year according to an industry insider.
Released in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy is a dream game for fans of Harry Potter. Never before have we been able to explore the gorgeous halls of Hogwarts Castle and its surrounding areas such as Hogsmeade Village, quite like we can in the action RPG developed by Avalanche Software.

“Experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Make allies, battle Dark wizards, and ultimately decide the fate of the wizarding world,” reads the synopsis of the game.

Not only was Hogwarts Legacy well received by critics, as indicated by its respectable Metacritic score of 84 but it was also a commercial success, becoming the best-selling game of 2023.
So it would make sense for publisher Warner Bros. Games to commission a sequel and by the looks of things, Hogwarts Legacy 2 will happen and it potentially be inspired by the upcoming Harry Potter series from HBO.
However, before the sequel arrives, it looks like we could get Hogwarts Legacy: Definitive Edition at some point this year, according to Insider Gamings, Tom Henderson.
As with most Definitive or Game of the Year Editions, this new version of Hogwarts Legacy will come bundled with all previously released DLC which will include the ‘Dark Arts Pack’ which was PlayStation exclusive content, now available on Xbox.

What’s more, the Hogwarts Legacy: Definitive Edition is said to include 10 to 15 hours of new content featuring story missions, side-quests, various activities as well as outfits.
At this time, it’s worth keeping in mind that this Definitive Edition is unconfirmed, so we should take this information with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
