We’re just a few days away from the premiere of HBO’s The Last of Us series. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will bring Joel and Ellie to life and if the reviews are anything to go by, we are in for an incredible treat.
Critics are calling The Last of Us “the greatest video game adaptation ever made,” and that makes my TLOU-adoring heart very happy indeed. Those who have seen the show have deemed it to be a “masterpiece,” on par with Naughty Dog’s 2013 game. It was previously revealed that the show would feature less violence than the game but don’t worry, because it’s also been confirmed by critics that the Infected are still “very gross, and very scary.” We keep talking about HBO because it’s the show’s US home, but you’ll also be able to catch The Last of Us over here in the UK.
Check out this epic trailer for The Last of Us below.
If you’re based in the UK, you’ll be able to watch The Last of Us via Sky Atlantic or NOW TV. It goes without saying that you’ll need a subscription to access those services. It should also be noted that the show will premiere on 16 January here in the UK, one day later than in the US. The Last of Us will then release a new episode every Monday. There are nine episodes in total. Got all that?

To make it nice and easy, here’s a full UK schedule breakdown: Episode One - 16 January, Episode Two - 23 January, Episode Three - 30 January, Episode Four - 6 February, Episode Five - 13 February, Episode Six - 20 February, Episode Seven - 27 February, Episode Eight - 6 March, and Episode Nine - 13 March.
In case you missed it, The Last of Us features several feature-length episodes. So far, we know that both episodes one and three will have extended runtimes. One major change has also been made to the show’s Infected. It won’t be long before we discover what other changes the series has in store.
