I think that the seemingly endless wait for the next Grand Theft Auto game is starting to get to people a little bit, because fans are currently convinced that the upcoming title’s full reveal is happening imminently.
At the time of writing, it’s been 444 days since Rockstar Games confirmed that “active development” on what will presumably be called GTA VI is underway, which means it’s also been 444 days since the devs have given us any information on it. Despite that, thanks to a huge leak that surfaced online last September, fans have seemingly been able to uncover both the protagonists and location for the game - some have even been making their own maps using alleged leaked coordinates found within the files.
Take a look at what GTA VI might look like thanks to this GTA V Vice City mod.
The main question that fans have been asking every day since that fateful reveal is, of course, when will the game be coming out? To answer that, we first need to see a proper trailer for it, and as Sportskeeda reports, the fanbase is currently thinking/hoping/praying that we could be getting our first look at the game sometime before 17 May. Yes, that's about three weeks away. Oh my.

“I think there is actually a good chance that GTA VI will be announced before 17 May,” Twitter user @mnm345x wrote. “The timing will be very good. Please don't raise your expectations, I just think it's possible.”
So, what’s the significance? The parent company of Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, is having its Q4 2023 earnings conference call on 17 May, and so some think that it might want to drop the proper game announcement before that. Gives them something to talk about in their meeting, I suppose.
It’s a solid enough theory, but it’s by no means a guarantee. Needless to say, take this with a pinch of salt for now, and please hype responsibly.
