Now that 2023 is over and we’re into 2024, it means that we’re edging closer to the highly anticipated release of GTA VI and fans will ensure that the hype train remains on full steam ahead until it arrives in 2025.
With each arrival of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series, it becomes bigger and arguably better than its predecessor and fans will be hoping that GTA VI will be no exception. While we can only assume that GTA VI will be better than GTA V, perhaps the safest assumption to make would be that the next entry will go even bigger in terms of its map size.
Check out the GTA VI trailer below!
After all, not only has the return of Vice City been confirmed in the first official trailer for GTA VI, but judging by previous rumours and speculation, we may even be taken to other locations outside of the United States. Of course, those rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, but I am a firm believer in there being no smoke without fire.

Fans on Reddit have been speculating about the map size of GTA VI and a user has shared a concept map credited to DuPz0r that compares the potential map size of the upcoming entry to the last, and if the actual map of GTA VI is anything near to the size of this one, fans are going to be very happy indeed. For some reason, the concept map is covered by a spoiler filter, but fear not, as I’d say the image in question is not a spoiler, especially as Rockstar Games has yet to confirm the actual map size and locations.

“Imagine driving from the top of the map to the gator keys for an online mission,” replied kimm_jong_un. “If Red Dead Online was anything to go by, there's going to be lots of long driving from A to B in GTA Online 2,” replied Kronenburg_1664. “My friend and I always travel from one end to the other in every game together and I am so looking forward to doing that [in GTA VI],” exclaimed ItzBabyJoker.
At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI does not have a solid release date, but we do know that it will be released at some point in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, assuming it suffers no delay. Hopefully, the yet-to-be-confirmed PC port will follow at a later date.
