One of the most famous wrestlers turned actor (and then turned wrestler again) has just posted a Grand Theft Auto VI teaser on their Instagram, and those excited for Rockstar Games’ next big title are slightly confused by what it might imply.
John Cena, World Wrestling Entertainment superstar and Hollywood star in films such as 2023's Fast X and 2021's The Suicide Squad, posted on his Instagram account a couple of days ago.
No caption, no explanation - just a picture of Grand Theft Auto VI’s promo art. So, why?

Some have assumed that this is a teaser of sorts for John Cena’s potential role in the upcoming game, possibly as an NPC or a radio host, but unfortunately, the answer is much sillier (and actually not really related to GTA VI at all).
When will Rockstar drop the game's second trailer?
In a thread over on the r/GTA6 subreddit discussing the meaning behind the Instagram post, several users chimed in to explain that this was more of a joke at GTA VI’s expense.

“John Cena runs his Instagram account himself. He traditionally uses no captions and rarely pictures of himself, he posts random s**t fitting to his current situation or he just found funny on the spot,” commented one user.
“So this time the joke/situation is definitely, 'We got heel/bad guy Cena before GTA VI.' He is, or was, one of the eternal babyface (aka good guy) wrestlers in WWE and him turning heel on his last year is just crazy.”
“This is literally my favourite thing about John Cena,” replied user GTASimsWWE, “that and his heel turn last night”.
So, there you have it - this is just a joke from Cena about his new role as a bad guy in the WWE.

Shame really, because I reckon Cena would crush a role in a GTA game. I suppose it’s not impossible that he might still show up though…
