GTA V fans are divided over Trevor's fate following the “real” ending of the Rockstar Games title.
One of the most popular and successful video games of all time, GTA V, has three possible endings that the player must choose and one of those is the canon ending that has sparked debate with fans over the years.
Check out the Grand Theft Auto V trailer below!
I will be going into spoilers for the endings of Grand Theft Auto V, a game originally released nearly 12 years ago in September 2013. So please consider this to be your spoiler warning.

During the concluding moments of GTA V, the player is presented with three possible endings - choice A: Kill Trevor, choice B: Kill Michael or choice C: Deathwish.
The official canonical ending is ‘Deathwish’, a scenario where all three characters, Franklin, Trevor and Michael survive. Not including players freely exploring Los Santos after the campaign is done, players are often left wondering what lives the three characters led after GTA V.
We’ve had some hints of what they’ve been up to in various content update events for GTA Online and perhaps if we’re lucky, we might learn more in GTA VI, even if that information is fleeting.
“What do you think happened to Trevor?” asked Redditor tyskaalskaren. “I just finished the Drug Wars missions [GTA Online] and was surprised that the Sandy Shores airfield was available for the Fooliganz to land on.”

“Do you think he [Trevor] will make an appearance in a later update, or do you think he is gone and forgotten by Rockstar Games?” they concluded.
“Some people think he was meant to be back for the Drug Wars, but for whatever reason, he was replaced by Dax and his troupe,” claimed ze_ex_21. “I think if that was true, Wade should have returned.”
“Damn, this really puts things into perspective. I hope they bring back Michael though, at least as a side character in a future update,” tyskaalskaren replied to ze_ex_21.
“No. Steven Ogg had been very clear he will never return to GTA,” said a user, referring to the actor who played Trevor. However, Steven Ogg has recently said he’d like to see Trevor return in GTA VI and he explained how he’d like to see it.

“He will definitely come back. It’s too lucrative of a gig to not do it,” replied Knautical_J,” who later suggested that we could see Trevor in GTA VI.
Personally, as much as I’d love to see Trevor back in GTA VI as well as Franklin and Michael in some capacity, I’m not overly optimistic. But you never know.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released late this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC release is yet to be officially announced.
