Throughout the years, Rockstar Games have given us some of the most memorable video game characters of all time and we doubt that trend will end anytime soon.
Whether it’s John Marston or Arthur Morgan of the Red Dead Redemption series, Tommy Vercetti of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or James Earl Cash of Manhunt, Rockstar Games knows how to create compelling characters. When GTA V was originally released in 2013, it brought not one, not two but three more iconic characters, namely Trevor Phillips, Franklin Clinton and Michael De Santa, and it’s the latter two of those characters who have seemingly teased a return.
Check out the GTA V trailer below!
Michael De Santa played by the brilliant Ned Luke, is perhaps the worst of the three playable antagonists in Grand Theft Auto V. He will still stop at nothing to get rich even if it’s at the expense of his family. Michael will smile at his family and friends, all while plotting the next get-rich scheme. In fairness, all three playable characters are kinda of scummy in unique ways but at least Trevor Philips is upfront about it. However, each of the three characters is no less iconic and it’s why they remain firm fan favourites to this very day.

Earlier this week, Rockstar Games announced in a Newswire website update that subscribers of GTA+ will be gifted with free digital copies of L.A Noire and Bully later in the year but it also teased its next major update for GTA Online. “Look out for the opportunity to secure a new bonus supercar as part of your GTA+ Membership with this summer’s big GTA Online update,” Rockstar Games concluded in the website update.
No details were provided by Rockstar Games following the website post but not long after it was published, not only did Ned Luke tease a potential return when responding to a fan of Twitter, but so too did Shawn Fenteno who plays Frankin.
“Rockstar Games have just announced that a big update will be coming to GTA Online this summer. It’s time for us to receive the long-awaited Michael update,” tweeted Nuro to which Ned Luke replied: “Wouldn’t that be nice,” accompanied by five star emojis. Then responding to the fan account Rockstar Universe when tweeting about the prospect of a Michael mission, Shawn Fenteno said: “Hmmmm, maybe a Michael and Franklin one.”

At this time, we should take the teases with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, it’s not outside the realms of possibility that Rockstar Games would bring back the characters of GTA V in a major GTA Online update, after all, it would be a massive deal for fans. Could we also see the triumphant return of Trevor Philps played by Steven Ogg? Only time will tell.
