We’re now in spooky season, with Halloween fast approaching at the end of this month and Rockstar Games has released its latest free content update for GTA V.
For many, Halloween is their version of Christmas. Nights arrive earlier, bats come out to play and it’s always a perfect excuse to binge-watch horror movies and TV series. Not that we ever need much of a reason to enjoy some gruesomely gory horror.

It’s also a great time to play scary video games, such as Silent Hill 2 or Alien: Isolation. The latter of which by the way is getting a sequel with Alien: Isolation 2 announced on the tenth anniversary of the original game.

However, while it's presented to be very tongue and cheek, Rockstar Games likes to dabble in horror too, such as the critically acclaimed expansion Undead Nightmare for Red Dead Redemption both of which were recently announced for PC.
While there has been no Undead Nightmare expansion for GTA V, its free bundled game, GTA Online can benefit from expansion-sized updates such as the ‘Ludendorff Cemetery Survival’ available for free right now.
Essentially, this Halloween update turns the Lundenorff Cemetery located in North Yankton of Los Santos, into an Undead Nightmare-inspired wave-based mode where you have to fight off hordes of relentless zombies.
What’s more, ‘Ludendorff Cemetery Survival’ will not only feature a variety of once-human zombies to kill but also the wildlife are amongst the walking dead. If you manage to survive at least three waves without dying, you will be rewarded with the Gray Creepy Mask as well as GTA$100,000.

In addition, if the GTA Online community successfully slays 80 million zombies in ‘Ludendorff Cemetery Survival’, all will be gifted with the Orange Glow Skeleton Onesie and the Red Hooded Skull Mask.
There will also be additional themed modes, missions (such as taking photos of ghosts), and weekly challenges that will reward you with double RP and GTA$. You may even spot a UFO in the sky of Los Santos.
This Halloween event won't last forever because it ends on Wednesday, 23 October 2024. Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online are out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
