God Of War Ragnarök is hands-down one of the most-antipcated video game releases of 2022, but it's fair to say fans are getting a little too antsy about the sequel's release date.
Both Sony and developer Santa Monica Studio have maintained that Kratos and Atreus' next adventure remains on track to release this year, despite a handful of whispers that the game has been pushed into 2023. Sure enough, with each passing day, the fear that Ragnarök isn't coming till next year grows more real.
Recently it was suggested that Sony had planned to share release date and pre-order information for God Of War Ragnarök today (July 30), though insiders have now claimed this has been pushed back. Whether or not there was ever supposed to be an update today remains unclear, but the game's producer Cory Barlog has taken to Twitter to ask fans to calm down and be patient.

"If it were up to me I would share all the information when I know about it. but it is not up to me," the developer wrote. "So please, be patient. I promise things will be shared at the earliest possible moment they can be."
A little later on, Barlog engaged with a frustrated fan who asked the developer to simply admit the game has been delayed out of 2022, to which he responded simply that it hasn't been. Not quite the update we were hoping for, but definitely a promising sign.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier recently claimed that God Of War Ragnarök will be launching in November, and insists that a release date announcement is coming soon. For now, however, maybe take Barlog's advice and wait patiently. Ragnarök is coming, and it's obviously going to be great.
