Ghost of Tsushima was a significant shift for Sucker Punch Productions, who had previously developed the Sly Cooper and Infamous series. Yet, as we are well aware, a surprise from a studio that has cut its teeth on a specific genre can be a smash-hit. Speaking of, have you tried Tango Gameworks' Hi-Fi Rush yet?
Ghost of Tsushima holds a cherished place in plenty of players hearts for its beauty, gripping storyline and faithfulness to the historical period that it is set. While the Director's Cut satiated the appetite of those waiting for Jin's journey to continue, we haven't heard a huge amount on the status of the sequel. However, an advert for the PlayStation 5 might have given the game away, so to speak.
Take a look:
In the advert, we can see some references to the game, if brief. The cavalry retreating from a burning village seems reminiscent. We spot Jin standing in a field of red flowers after this, and then he's raising his sword above his head in another short clip. This advert gave us major PS3 vibes with its mix of live-action against CGI so it's not certain that this is a not a nod to the Director's Cut of Ghost of Tsushima.
Advert
It's important to note that Sucker Punch Production hasn't actually announced that it is working on Ghost of Tsushima 2, even though its success seems to ensure that it's a guarantee. Last June, the developer was seeking a senior encounter designer who had experience on open worlds and/or melee and stealth games. While it's prudent to look before you leap, I'd assume that this was for the potential sequel.
