Former Skyrim developer shows off open-world horror game

This heavy metal horror hunting game is one we are watching like a hawk.

The Axis Unseen is a heavy metal horror game with a unique soundtrack that reacts to the way that you hunt the folkloric monsters in the world with you.

Clifford Meyer, who some will recognise from the post-metal bands ISIS and Red Sparowes, contributes to the original music arrangements that use both heavy metal and "primitive" instruments to dynamically reflect the events of the game. We've covered The Axis Unseen once before but this trailer, hot off the presses of developer Just Purkey Games, shows off even more of its entrancing world.

Take a look:

The Axis Unseen is the work of a singular developer named Nate Purkeypile, who has lent his skills to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Metroid Prime 3 and Starfield to name a handful of games. An impressive roster to be sure.

This is no ordinary hunting simulator, though. The bow is upgradeable and there are a variety of elemental arrows that offer you the edge in tracking and combat scenarios. Combinations of these effects are possible too, like wind arrows causing the fire from fire arrows to spread swiftly. Additionally, there is something hunting this hunter, and the purpose of their presence in this haunting world will be revealed over the course of their journey.

It's unknown when this game is going to hit the shelves - at the time of writing, the release window is "when the Axis aligns." However, it is one that we've got our eye on, so we'll keep you in the loop as and when we know more.
