Far Cry 7 may not have been officially announced by Ubisoft just yet but according to a recent insider leak, we may already know which star could be playing the next iconic villain.
The Far Cry series is infamous for its incredible villains, ranging from Far Cry 3’s Vaas to Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min.

Now it seems as though another famous face could be appearing as the antagonist in Far Cry 7 if and when it is released and it is none other than Cillian Murphy himself.
Best known for playing Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders and bagging an Oscar for his role in Oppenheimer, Murphy is widely regarded as one of our best working actors.
The leak comes from j0nathan - a prolific Ubisoft leaker - who posted a cryptic Tweet consisting of four images to Twitter.
The images included an image of Murphy, dynamite with a 72-hour countdown, a crab, and the number ‘7’.

“If nothing changes by then,” j0nathan’s cryptic message read.
News of Murphy’s potential cameo soon leaked over on r/gaming and it wasn’t long before fans gathered to share their thoughts.
“They keep hiring all of these big celebs, but the one everyone remembers is Michael Mando playing Vaas when he was still basically a nobody”, the top comment read.
“Cillian Murphy?!?! Ubisoft CEO at release: "We've made the first AAAAA-game! $1000, please!””, user cficare joked.

However, it is not all sunshine and rainbows as leaker j0nathan posted an update after this cryptic post, saying that just because he used an image of Murphy, that does not mean that he will star in Far Cry 7.
"Attention: I NEVER said Cillian Murphy was going to be in the game. The image means something else," they revealed.
Well, it was fun whilst it lasted.
