Despite not having been officially announced by Ubisoft, it is widely believed that Far Cry 7 is in early development and this recent tease already shares some information about the game’s plot.
It has been four years since Far Cry 6 was released and despite its mixed reviews, fans of the long-running series are still eager to find out what will be next.
Check out the story trailer for Far Cry 4 below in the meantime!
Although Ubisoft has not officially announced Far Cry 7, some rumours over the years have hinted at its existence so it may not be long before we get an formal confirmation.

With no official details about the game, it is these leaks that have been keeping fans satisfied and that includes leaked casting calls which were first discovered last year before being taken down.
Luckily, the original poster is back and has shared the information once more over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours.
According to this casting call, the plot for Far Cry 7 will focus on the wealthy Bennet family which consists of Layla, Dax, Brie, Christian, Henry, and Krista.
With comparisons to hit television show Succession, the story will follow their power struggle with one of the game’s villains being a man called Ian Duncan.

He is described as a “conspiracy theorist with an army of believers” and is “envious of the wealthy elite and the power they wield.”
There are also secondary characters called John Mackay and doctor Safna Kazan but not much else is known about them.
Last but not least, New England is the possible setting for Far Cry 7 as the location was mentioned multiple times in the call.
“New England as a setting is an odd choice for FC,” user Superbunzil wrote.

“Like there are very remote places in it but nothing surface level different than FC5 except more boulders and softer mountains - so make me wonder if this is the radical departure leaks have been talking about.”
HomeMadeShock wrote, “I know people s*it on Ubisoft for their same-y franchises, but ngl I do have a soft spot for Far Cry.
Far Cry 6 was weird but I’m hoping 7 is more like 3-5.”
Of course, none of this has been confirmed (including the game itself) so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.

However, if true, it will make for an exciting story to say the least.
