Earlier this month, it was confirmed that a huge “era-defining franchise event” called Call of Duty Next will be taking place in September, which is set to showcase live gameplay for the upcoming title, Modern Warfare II, and details for both the mobile version of Warzone (aka Project Aurora) as well as the Warzone sequel.
Take a look at some gameplay footage for Modern Warfare II below.
At Summer Game Fest, it was revealed that Warzone 2 will apparently be “an extension of the Modern Warfare II universe”, and will also use the same engine, but other than that, official details have been light on the ground. However, as reported by Charlie INTEL, fans on Reddit have made it clear that there’s one big change that needs to happen above all else.

“I don’t care how good of a game WZ2 will be, if they can’t figure out a way to have the game run smoothly and if packet burst and bad servers are going to be the norm, the game will fail,” wrote juicemtl. Others are in agreement: “Packet loss caused me to crouch [three] times in a row when I was trying to slide cancel and got me killed in a game we should have won,” replied PurseGrabbinPuke.
Not everyone is optimistic about the potential improvements though, with many believing that fans would still play the game anyway: “You’re joking right? If that was the case WZ would’ve failed a long time ago,” commented theAtmuz.
Assuming that some gameplay footage for Warzone 2 gets shown off during Call of Duty Next, we might have a better idea of how it’s going to perform - we’ll just have to wait and see.
