In case you weren’t aware, every year, Fallout fans on Reddit come together to participate in an unofficial questionnaire, to figure out what the community’s favourite and least favourite games are (no prizes for guessing those), as well as a few other neat facts about the fanbase. Which game is most deserving of a remake? How do they all fare when it comes to their side quests? We have all the answers.
As reported by The Gamer (and as you’ll no doubt have read in the headline), Fallout: New Vegas is undoubtedly the fan favourite, with 52.6% of the 1020 participants ranking it as their number-one pick. Second place saw Fallout 4, with just over a quarter of responses (25.5%) putting it first. Unsurprisingly, when it came to voting for the weakest game, most people (30%) picked Fallout 76 - I don’t think we needed a poll to figure that one out.
Take a look at the launch trailer for the community's favourite Fallout game right here.
New Vegas dominated the number-one spot for the majority of these questions - it was the most popular pick for a remake, and voted to have the best RPG elements, story, side quests, and also be the most enjoyable overall. That said, when it comes to gameplay, the vast majority of fans thought that Fallout 4 does it best, as illustrated by a whopping 65.9% of the votes. In second place for that category, would you believe it, is Fallout 76, which is perhaps the greatest accolade I’ve seen that game get.

So, how do the results fare compared to last year’s poll? Well, they’re actually very similar (despite a big drop in turnout - last year saw over 8000 players respond) - New Vegas was also the most popular back then, so it’s not surprising that it’s taken the top spot again. Perhaps Fallout’s Reddit community is just dominated by fans of Bethesda’s 2010 release? God forbid that a fan-made poll could be slightly inaccurate when it comes to its representation of every single player’s views.
Anyway, there’s absolutely loads of different questions included in the questionnaire, and this article would be very cluttered if I listed them all, so I’ll spare you from that, but you can check out the full results here if you’re interested. And hey, if you disagree with any of the rankings, there’s always next year, and you can vote yourself.
