A Fallout project is coming to an end without even seeing the light of day and fans aren’t taking it well.
Fallout: Vault 13 was due to be a full Fallout remake of the original game completely rebuilt in the Fallout 4 engine.
Speaking of games getting remade, the Silent Hill 2 remake is selling like hotcakes
The team behind the mod took to Twitter to deliver the news that production is coming to an end.

Fans were informed that there had been no infighting between team members and they had not received a cease and desist from Bethesda.
The tweet went on to say that “Fallout: Vault 13 was suspended due to a combination of factors.”
This included “burnout, difficulty in recruiting, and personal life changes among core members of the team.”
Of course, being a mod project, the team wasn’t getting paid, was often working hours outside of their regular jobs, and saw that the game could no longer be made.

The team will be releasing the game in an unfinished state to “ensure that all the work we’ve done sees the light of day.”
They also hope that another team of creators will see the mod and be inspired to either create their own project or even carry on the work started here.
Fans on Reddit mourned the decision, with one Redditor stating very simply, “Well that sucks.”
Remaking a huge RPG is never going to be a walk in the park.

Another user explains, “All too common. It’s what makes projects like [Fallout] London special. This type of thing is insanely hard to do.”
User Cymelion explains further, “Time is a person's most limiting resource and a passion project that relies on other’s time without monetary contributions is always on the knife edge.”
AuroralImpura mourns the loss and hopes Bethesda steps in one day, “Sucks, would be cool to see the old games get remastered at least.”
