Surviving in the post-nuclear wasteland is never easy and survival skills are a must. However, one Fallout 4 player advises against showing off those lockpicking skills.
Taking place in the radiation-filled wastelands of The Commonwealth, Fallout 4 will see you battle to survive as you head across the country to find your missing son.

However, in typical game fashion, your missing son is in no hurry to be found and you can spend countless hours battling mutated monsters, jumping around in power armour and flirting with the local ghoul.

In amongst all that, you will need to scavenge for supplies and one way of doing this is by picking safes that you find dotted around the map. However, one player seemingly recommends against this.
Posted on r/Fallout, the original poster says: “Lockpicking is the most meaningless feature of Fallout.
“It's absurdly easy. There's a 0% chance of the lock jamming, and 100% chance of opening the lock. Bobby pins are overly abundant and the success rate is too high.
The whole exercise is just trivial and lazy for a franchise this big. I'm disappointed that Bethesda has basically left this unchanged for ... 10 years?”

They go on to say that the loot found in safes is not worth the bother of unlocking them at all and would only see picking locks to be worth the trouble if you are roleplaying as a thief.
However, it seems as though this strong opinion is shared by others as comments soon flooded in with many fans in agreement.
One said: “I agree with the lockpicking, it's kind of hard in the beginning of the game when you're a young player, but later game is easy. Coming from Dying Light, a zombie survival game where lockpicking is hard and annoying, it's pretty uninspiring.”
