Due to the success of the Fallout TV show from Amazon, millions of people are playing Fallout 4 either for the first time, or revisiting after many months away.
Bethesda, the game’s developer, decided to update the game to bring it up to modern standards as the game’s visuals were a bit creaky and what better way to celebrate the TV show than to revitalise the most recent game?

Well, in true Bethesda fashion, it didn’t go all that well. So, a second update has just landed, and, let’s just say it’s more of the same.

Many players are urging others to steer clear of the new update or wait until modders can sort out the game.
According to those on Reddit, the latest Fallout 4 update still hasn’t fixed the issues with ultrawide monitors, nor has it fixed certain scripts within the code that ties loading assets to the framerate.
On this latter point one Redditor comments, “I am currently playing on a 21:9 monitor with a 3090, i9 and 64gb ram. The game is on m.2 NVME SSD but EVERY HOUSE I ENTER LOADS FOR LIKE 30SECONDS WTF????”
The new-gen update was discussed and delayed for around two years before it finally launched last month, but it seems many issues still prevail.

Another comment points out a problem with one of the game’s biggest features, “All I wanted was VATS fixed and the new creation club items not having broken textures. No mention of VATS fixes. Sigh.”
“No mention of the Weapon Debris crash.” Says another user of a problem that’s been around for years. They end up saying that Bethesda relies on modders too much and that many issues will be fixed once mod teams can truly get to work again.
For now, it might be worth letting Bethesda and the modders cook.
