Created by one user over on Nexus Mods, the Fallout 4 Outline Reshade mod adds a “cel shading effect” which aims to “draw outlines on meshes”.
As you can expect, this combination is very reminiscent of the modder’s inspirations - the Borderlands franchise and Telltale Game’s overall distinct art style found in titles such as The Wolf Among Us and Batman: The Enemy Within.
“Tired of looking at the old vanilla graphics? Why not make it worse? I mean, why not try something different?” reads the mod description. “This preset mainly uses comic.fx to draw cel shading outlines on mashes.
I also added some extra touches to tweak the visuals to make it more vibrant to achieve a more cartoonist effect.”

The modder also assures downloaders that the game’s unique visuals will not cause any FPS drops and will be able to be customised to their liking.
This is just one of many mods available to add to Fallout 4 for absolutely free courtesy of Nexus Mods. If you are looking for more ways to change up your experience, you can also check out a fan-made next-gen update as well as gain access to up to 20 brand-new quests.
