If you are a fan of the original Elder Scrolls games or just want to dive into a RPG of epic proportions, then this new game by two of Elder Scrolls’ original creators is not one to miss out on.
Starting off as a Kickstarter project which officially reached its funding back in June last year, The Wayward Realms is set to be the spiritual successor to the original Elder Scrolls entries.
Check out the gameplay trailer for The Wayward Realms below!
From legendary game developers Ted Peterson and Julian Lefay, this epic RPG aims to bring the “old-school design philosophies of classic RPGs together with the latest technology and quality of life improvements, courtesy of Unreal Engine 5”.

“Get lost in a massive, beautiful open world, filled to the brim with adventure,” the official synopsis reads.
“Explore vast, realistically scaled cities, sprawling towns, deep dungeons filled with untold treasures, and a plethora of diverse environments.
Discover populations of warring factions, dangerous creatures, and an expansive cast of characters that come to life the more you interact with them.”
Supposedly closer to The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall vibes as opposed to Morrowind or Skyrim, The Wayward Realms has excited fans since it was first teased back in 2019.

“Here's a recent deep-dive interview with Ted Peterson about what their plans are,” Redditor vibribbon shared.
“Basic takeaway: they like to think of Daggerfall as the prototype for this game. So basically Daggerfall done a whole lot better with a more complex system of proc-gen questing.”
For user mdins1980, they were remaining optimistic.
“Daggerfall was a ridiculous buggy mess, but once you got out of that first dungeon and got into the open world and experienced its vastness, it was mind blowing.

Daggerfall had a lot of problems, but for all its issues it was way ahead of its time.
If they could somehow pull this off then this could become a legendary game. But for now I will remain cautiously optimistic.”
Wayward Realms has not yet received an official release date but it is already on Steam so if you want to keep up to date with the project, you can add it to your wish list!
