A little patience is needed

Fair to say, none of us want Bethesda to rush The Elder Scrolls VI, after all, expectations are high - especially after Starfield split opinion.

That being said though, it doesn’t exactly make the wait any easier.

Us gamers aren’t known for being the most patient lot.

It’s no secret that Bethesda is still hard at work on Starfield with the game’s first story expansion, Shattered Space, set to land later this month on 30 September.

The Elder Scrolls VI is in production alongside that, but is likely still several years away from launch.

If that fact makes you feel a modicum of sadness, just think of the poor Fallout fans who are going to have to wait even longer for Fallout 5.

Even still, The Elder Scrolls VI fans are clamouring for a scrap of new information given that the game’s first and only trailer dropped in 2018.

Bethesda is holding its cards close to its chest though, very well in fact.

There have, at the time of writing, been no major leaks and yet that seems to be something that’s left some fans feeling dissatisfied.

Take a look at the trailer for Shattered Space below.

“Given the Starfield leaks way back when, we're probably going to get the same for TESVI right? Maybe even next year, considering that the game exists in an early build state that is somewhat playable?” asked Reddit user Ichbinian.

“I'm sure we'll see something, there was already the Pinterest account that went private supposedly because it was run by a Bethesda employee,” replied TheDorgesh68 referring to a Pinterest moodboard that surfaced earlier this year.

“Yes we will get leaks. I'm making sure of that,” wrote an ominous OdahP.

This is where I tell you that we, as fans, should not wish for leaks.

Yes, waiting isn’t always fun but behind the scenes, developers are pouring their hearts in the games we long for.

Those projects will be shown off when they’re ready. Leaks can heavily damage the development process, and even spoil things like the story for fans.

I’m happy to see though that for every individual hoping for leaks, there are plenty more who wish to go without.

“I hope not. leaks are lame and ruin morale for developers,” said Benjamin_Starscape, while JewDonn added, “The only leak I want is Bethesda to come out and release a trailer for the game.”

I quite agree. Let them cook.
