Elden Ring modders are looking to overhaul the game somewhat with their new mod, The Convergence.
Created by CouchJockey and an enormous team, The Convergence is "an exhaustive overhaul of Elden Ring with dozens of new weapons, hundreds of new spells, extensively revamped areas and maps." This mod is bound to become a favourite with players while they wait on the DLC coming soon from FromSoft.
Elden Ring will be officially expanding soon
Along with the above features, The Convergence also brings "improved visuals, new enemies and bosses." It's safe to say that this isn't the Elden Ring we have at home. The hope is to revamp the game and with just one or two of these mods that would be a safe bet, but with everything included this might as well be a whole new expansion.

With over 167K downloads to date, it's proving to be a popular mod. Players have reached a point where DLC is becoming a need, not a want. Lots of die-hard fans are desperate for new content after playing and replaying the full release over the last 18 months. While there is official DLC on the way (and maybe a sequel), we don't have a proper timeline when to expect it. For now, the modding community can carry some of these players.
Some other features of The Convergence can be seen below:
- 27 new classes
- Each class has its own starting location
- Boss resurrections allow to replay your favourite bosses
- Better crafting, with no need for cookbooks or containers
- New equipment
You can't use your standard characters by default, you will have to move them by hand, however the mod developers recommend that you start a new game with a modded character to prevent any bugs or instability. Thankfully there are several to choose from and enough content that a fresh playthrough will be worthwhile.
