There are very few fans of FromSoftware that will deny Elden Ring is one of the greatest video games in recent memory, and exploring the Lands Between, can’t get much better, right? Not if this remarkable graphics mod has anything to say about it.
Elden Ring was first released in February 2022 and was met with high acclaim by FromSoftware fans and reviewers alike with scores as high as 96 on the aggregate website Metacritic earning the “Must-Play” accolade.

In our review of Elden Ring, we said it’s: “a constantly surprising adventure that has taken FromSoftware’s tried-and-tested formula to delirious new heights. A year after the successful launch of Elden Ring, developer FromSoftware dropped the news that we will be treated to its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree. Yet, since that time, we’ve not had a release date or even a snippet of gameplay for expansion. However, if recent rumours are to be believed, Shadow of the Erdtree might be released very soon.
Until Shadow of the Erdtree arrives and beyond, modders have been hard at work making the likes of Elden Ring an even better experience for fans and one mod in question, simply named ‘Texture Improvement’ does exactly what it says on the tin and then some.
Available to download now for free via Nexusmods, the ‘Texture Improvement’ mod is created by bardowastaken. By replacing the Elden Ring files on PC, the Lands Between will now look better than ever performing with the highest possible resolution. Praise the sun!
What’s more, not only have the worldly textures been improved upon but so too have the in-game maps, some armours have benefited from an added metallic shine and even the draw distance has been improved. You will however require a GPU with a minimum requirement of 7GB of VRAM and install Elden Ring on an SSD to take full advantage of this glorious mod.
