Elden Ring is an incredibly unforgiving video game, as I'm sure you know. The Lands Between is a dangerous realm filled with traps, monsters, and plenty of other ways to make you very dead, very quick.
One minute you're being stomped by an eldritch abomination from before the dawn of time, the next you're misjudging the height of a fall and crumpling on the cold hard ground like a sack of day-old spuds. In Elden Ring, death is the only constant. But even so, we were more than a little surprised to learn that a wall is managing to murder players.
Check out some of the very best Elden Ring wins and fails below!
As explained by Elden Ring hacker Zullie the Witch (thanks, Kotaku), there's one section of wall below Volcano Manor’s Temple of Eiglay that can slowly poison players as if they've entered a swamp or other poisonous area.

It's incredibly easy to miss this tiny patch of wall, and even harder to stand there long enough for it to kill you, but the fact remains that there is a murderous wall in Elden Ring.
Zullie explains that the killer wall wasn't actually put into the game on purpose, obviously. The long and short of it, the hacker speculates, is that a small typo in the game's code led to this one bit of terrain behaving in a different way than FromSoftware intended. The result? MURDER WALL.
Take a look at Zullie's detailed explanation below.
Join us next week, when we meet the Elden Ring player who was brutally killed by the map screen.
