Survival games are definitely thriving right now. It's a genre that never seems to go out of fashion, mostly because the mechanics of the genre can be paired with any other genre or theme. We've had vikings, gothic mysteries, and a lot more. It's a satisfying experience.
With Enshrouded, there's a feeling that we're getting a combo of Elden Ring with its exploration, Minecraft with the crafting and surviving, but there's a dash of Valheim in there too due to the voxel-based graphics.
The pull of Elden Ring can never be underestimated
Coming soon to early access on Steam, Enshrouded is a survival-adventure game where "You are Flameborn, last ember of hope of a dying race. Awaken, survive the terror of a corrupting fog, and reclaim the lost beauty of your kingdom."

In true survival game style you start out with nothing. Not even clothes on your back. It's a tough beginning but any survival game fans already know this gameplay loop well. "You must scrape and scavenge through the ruined remnants of a lost kingdom, and fend off the beasts that hunger for your flesh." says some of the blurb for the game. You won't just be crafting tools and weapons, but houses, furniture and all sorts of items and equipment to thrive in this new world.
There seems to be several different biomes to explore where different materials will become available. What Enshrouded has over some other survival games is a deep combat system. The battles look brutal and rely heavily on skills you'll build through tackling smaller enemies on the way to bosses.
I know I'll be adding this to my wishlist; the voxel graphics are gorgeous, the lighting is moody, the enemies look monstrous and any game that lets you craft out your own place in the world is alright by my book.
