A massive new Elden Ring survey asking players what they love most about the game has resulted in some very interesting findings.
FromSoftware's latest game has hit a bigger audience than ever before, and with that comes a fascinating range of opinions from veteran Souls fans and newcomers alike.
Have you ever seen someone beat a Souls game on a dance mat before? You have now:
The survey was commissioned by FromSoftware and conducted by Japanese gaming outlet Famitsu (translated by FrontlineJP via NME). It asked around 1700 players to answer a series of questions about Elden Ring, ranging from their favourite NPCs and builds to the more general aspects of the game that they most enjoyed.

There's plenty of fascinating data to pore over. For example, most respondents were level 150 or higher when they had finished with the game, and had put in between 100-150 hours on average.
Vagabond was the most popular starting build, with most players preferring to invest their points into upgrading Vigour whenever possible. And surprising precisely nobody, the Mimic Tear Ash was the most popular summon by a ridiculous distance.
Elden Ring's open-world design was what most players loved about the game over anything else, with Caelid named the most memorable location on the map. It's certainly hard to forget that particular nightmare. Limgrave and Leyndell, Royal Capital were also near the top of the list, while the relatively barren Mountaintop Of The Giants came in last.
Ranni, Iron Fist Alexander, and Blaidd were the most popular NPCs, while Starscourge Radahn was voted the best boss a huge distance. Malenia and Margit came in second and third, respectively.
