Roll up, roll up Elden Ring fans. The latest patch update has been released. It’s no Shadow of the Erdtree, but allow me to fill you in on the latest changes FromSoftware have been making to the base game.
Speaking of Shadow of the Erdtree, it’s been a long while since we’ve heard anything about Elden Ring’s upcoming expansion. Announced earlier this year, all we really know about it is that it’ll feature “new adventures in the Lands Between”. Fans have been going into detective mode though, and it looks as if the concept art features Malenia’s older brother Miquella. More recently, it’s been unveiled that an Elden Ring season pass was scrapped in favour of the expansion. Perhaps we’ll get a release date at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live in August. For now though, let’s dive into these latest patch notes.
Ever wondered what an Elden Ring boss battle royale looks like? Take a look below.

Moving on to general balance adjustments, critical hit damage has been increased, while recovery time after a missed critical hit has been decreased. There’s also increased poise damage of attacks that occur after missing a critical hit.
In terms of bug fixes and general changes, there’s been an adjustment to the player damage animation so that the attack direction is not unintentionally shifted when getting hit while attacking with some types of weapons that generate poise, and a bug has been fixed that prevented some spells and incantations from causing damage while under the effect of some skills and items. Another bug has been rectified that caused the effects of the Sacred Order skill to continue after switching weapons and finally, there is some corrected text in certain languages.
