Oh boy, there it is. After numerous whispers from the rumour mill, it’s finally been confirmed - EA is working on an Iron Man game, in collaboration with Marvel Games.
It's an exciting time for Marvel fans, as there's also a Captain America and Black Panther game in the works - take a look at the teaser below.
More specifically, EA’s Motive Studio is working on the project, with Olivier Proulx (who previously worked on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy) leading the team. “We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring their original vision of one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters,” Bill Rosemann, vice president and creative director at Marvel Games said in a statement. “Their experience delivering both established entertainment worlds and thrilling gameplay - combined with their authentic passion for the [armoured] icon - will fuel our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.”

The third-person title will be a single-player action-adventure, which will apparently “feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man”. This genuinely sounds like the stuff of dreams.
Currently, the game is in pre-production, so it’s going to be a good minute before we see anything of it. However, excitingly, it’s also been confirmed that this title is “the first of several new games” being made in collaboration between EA and Marvel, so we may be seeing even more announcements sometime soon.
