Boosted by the immense success of HBO’s The Last of Us, video game adaptations are undeniably the biggest trend in the industry right now. There are so many on the way. Horizon, God of War, Fallout, and Ghost of Tsushima are just a few examples of franchises that are getting the big screen treatment. Sitting behind the adaptation trend though, the ongoing remake movement definitely takes second place.
Remakes are all the rage. Last year, The Last of Us Part I was released to critical acclaim. We’re only three months into 2023 and we’ve already had the excellent Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space remakes, plus Metroid Prime Remastered - all of which are dominating the top few positions of the year’s best rated games. There’s one game though that fans are saying is crying out for a remake: Dino Crisis.

If you didn’t know, the original Dino Crisis is available to play as a part of PlayStation Plus’ premium tier. Fans really want that remake though. Over on Twitter, one user wrote, “Capcom, you’re on a roll. This is the perfect time for that Dino Crisis remake we’ve been asking you for years,” while another added, “I would sell my own kidneys to fund a remake of Dino Crisis that was even half as good as the RE2 remake.” The people have spoken.
