You know, I think you may genuinely struggle to find any game out there with as much unofficial information and as little official information as the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone sequel.
As far as official information goes, we know the new battle royale happening. We know it will feature “groundbreaking innovations”, be a “massive evolution of battle royale”, and introduce an “all-new playspace”, as well as a sandbox mode.
But as vague as that official info might be, there’s an absolute trove of details that we’ve heard from reliable insiders. As reported by CharlieIntel, prominent leaker Tom Henderson has revealed that we’ll apparently be getting at least four classic Modern Warfare 2 (the 2009 version) maps incorporated into the game, in a unique way.

While you're here, be sure to check out some of the funniest COD: Warzone wins and fails below.
“As mentioned in my early report last November for Modern Warfare 2 (via VGC), old maps will be returning to not only the core title but to the Warzone 2 map itself,” Henderson wrote in an article on eXputer.
“Within the Warzone 2 map, the maps have been added and expanded upon, as per my original report. Final POI [point of interest] names for the map itself have not yet been determined, but I can still outline a few of these maps and their locations within Warzone 2.”

The maps which will reportedly be included as POIs are Highrise (located at the top right of the map), Quarry (at the top left), Terminal (found in the bottom right, and is “one of three locations on the map with a large stronghold”) and Afghan (towards the middle). Henderson added that there are more POI locations which might include Modern Warfare 2 maps, one of which is named ‘Mountain Town’, which could actually feature Favela.
Also, if you’re wondering what the leaker was talking about when he mentioned one of the locations having a “large stronghold”, that’s part of a new change coming to loadouts. According to YouTuber NerosCinema: “Loadouts are still going to be part of the game but they will be locked behind these things called Strongholds.” Basically, a Stronghold will reportedly offer a challenge, like defusing a bomb or sneaking into a building, which you’ll need to complete to earn your loadout.
As always, do keep in mind that none of this information has been officially confirmed, but Tom Henderson has been known to get many leaks like this spot-on before, so as far as insider information goes, this has a good chance of being true. We’ll just have to wait and see.
