This month global mobile phenomenon Candy Crush celebrates its 10th birthday, and to mark the momentous occasion, developer King hosted a once in a lifetime spectacle on the banks of New York’s Hudson River.
On 4 November, which is fittingly National Candy Day in the United States, King welcomed members of the public and press to Battery Park Esplanade in downtown Manhattan for an evening of sweet treats and more. Without a doubt, the main attraction was the Drone performance which took Candy Crush Saga from phone screens to the biggest screen on Earth - the sky.
During the event we chatted with Fernanda Romano, Chief Marketing Officer at King about the spectacle and the evolution of Candy Crush to date.

Yesterday's event kicked off the 10th anniversary celebrations, but better yet, in the run up to the official anniversary date of 14 November, gamers can enjoy daily in-game rewards, including unlimited lives for players across the globe. King also promises a flurry of surprises in the lead up to the big day.
It’s hard to believe that Candy Crush has been with us for all these years, since its launch in 2012, the game has been downloaded more than three billion times. Each year the game makes itself one of the most played mobile games, and if this event is anything to go by, there’s no sign of Candy Crush slowing down anytime soon. King remains committed to making the Candy Crush experience as enjoyable and playful for many years to come.
