Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 won't be playable without an constant internet connection, it has been confirmed in a new blog post.
"To deliver the highest-quality visuals while also reducing the game's overall storage space on your hard drive, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will use texture streaming across all game modes. This means you'll need a continuous internet connection to play any game mode, including Campaign. If you're on a console, Campaign can be played without a premium subscription service such as Game Pass Core or PlayStation Plus," the blog post stated.
Take a look at the game's new campaign trailer below.
That same blog post also stated that while the game is available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, players who only have the standard tier of Xbox Game Pass (namely Core) will only have access to the campaign mode of the game, due to the fact that a higher tier of the subscription service is required in order to play online games. In order to get access to all facets of the game, players will need to be subscribed to either Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Game Pass PC, which both have access to the campaign, multiplayer and Zombies modes for the title.

Meanwhile, the official file size for the title has been revealed, weighing in at just over 300GB. An important piece of context for that (extremely large) number, however, is that it's the size of everything installed at once, since modern Call of Duty games are hosted through one app. That file size is the combination of Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3 and the new title, likely with Warzone also tossed in there for good measure. Through a careful selection of what exactly the player wants to install, and working out exactly what aspect of the games they actually want to play the most, it'll be possible to greatly reduce that file size so that you can still afford to install other games on your console without taking out a loan for a new hard drive.
