It’s been a long time since we heard anything about BioShock 4 - five years, apparently - and long time fans of the franchise are getting sadder and more frustrated by the day. I know, I’m one of them.
So, when the game was mentioned on Reddit a while back, fans were quick to poke fun at themselves, the devs, and the waiting game we’re all playing while we await any news on the next BioShock.
For now, we'll have to keep revisiting the original BioShock games and live with that
“I have a good feeling it’ll be canned soon. Five years and nothing?” said Clolarion with some perceived sadness.

Another Redditor agrees with this, saying, “I don't think BioShock 4 will ever be real.”
One of my biggest bug bears within this industry is the incessant need to announce things years and years before the project could possible release.
We’ve seen it so many times, and BioShock 4 feels like one of those instances where keeping mouths closed would have been better.
“It is going to come before Half-Life 3. I have no doubts,” jokes Futurefreemanalive.

Some are keeping the hope alive even if it feels foolish at this point, with Terrible_Lab_5242 saying, “So you're telling me there's a chance it'll come out one day?”
It’s reached the point where many fans of the series are looking towards Judas, the game coming from Ken Levine, his first since BioShock: Infinite.
One Redditor sums up the situation with that glimmer of hope alive, “From the Netflix movie losing half its budget to BioShock 4 being reworked multiple times with no news or reassurance that it won’t get canned is actually depressing. At least we got Judas on the horizon.”
“Judas IS BioShock 4 as far as I'm concerned,” comments another.

We’ll keep sitting here, waiting, hoping for any news or a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
