We may all be talking about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor lately, but fans of the franchise have also taken the time to reminisce about their old favourites - and players are in agreement that Star Wars Battlefront II is one of the best Star Wars games ever released. They’ve got a point.
I don’t know about you but between Star Wars Celebration, The Mandalorian’s very enjoyable third season and the gem that is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, I have a lot of hype for this franchise right about now. Jedi: Survivor’s PC release has been somewhat rocky - bugs and glitches exist on console versions, although to a much lesser extent - but EA have been rolling out a constant succession of updates and patches. Those who are managing to play through the game are having a brilliant time. In our own review, GAMINGbible’s Will wrote that “ It’ll take something really special to come out to stop Survivor being the best action/adventure game of 2023.”

It’s not the first brilliant Star Wars game by any means though. Over on Reddit, fans gathered to discuss what an absolute banger Star Wars Battlefront II is. User SilentThomas wrote, “Star Wars Battlefront II [is the] best Star Wars game ever released IMO. Playing online with up to 16 players was so unbelievably fun back in 2005. Still love playing this game with up to 64 players now through Steam,” garnering a whopping 23,000 upvotes.

Comicmac305 added, “Bro, I remember when my friend let me have this game. I loved it, still do. The campaign, playing as both Jedi and Sith, performing Order 66, reliving the glorious battles of the movies, spacebattles, entering the ships to destroy them from the inside … I never played this online but I still play with my buds when they come over.”
Zionidas wrote, “What?! I CAN STILL PLAY ONLINE ON PC?!?” You sure can, my friend. Star Wars Battlefront II is still up and running on Steam’s servers, with a 24-hour peak of 489 at the time of writing. Not bad at all for an 18 year old game. Treat yourself to a dose of nostalgia.
