Batman: Arkham Knight is often considered the best entry in the Rocksteady action-adventure series but this free download is about to make the title a whole lot cooler.

Released back in 2015, Batman: Arkham Knight is the fourth main instalment in the Batman: Arkham series as the successor to 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins and a direct sequel to Batman: Arkham City in 2011.

Developed by Rocksteady Studios, Arkham Knight is a fan favourite and tells the story of the caped crusader as he faces long-time enemy Scarecrow who has launched an attack on Gotham City. Honestly, that city can’t catch a break.

Although it has been a while since the last Batman instalment, this free download adds a whole new element to Batman: Arkham Knight by offering a complete visual overhaul.

Arkham Knightmare is a visual overhaul mod aimed to add a slight polish to the 2015 title. Available on Nexus Mods, it overhauls the original textures whilst also retaining as much detail as possible.

“This mod is a visual overhaul of the textures used by the Arkham Knight character,” the description reads. “Care has been taken to retain as much detail as possible from the original textures. These changes apply across all instances of the Arkham Knight in the game. This includes the Red Hood DLC Skin and the Arkham Knight for Batman Skin.”

Additionally, players who download this mod are recommended to set their Texture Resolution in-game to high in the graphics settings to get the maximum effect.

Despite Batman: Arkham Knight rapidly approaching its 10th anniversary, content for it is not slowing down.

Just recently, a free download which adds some brand-new cosmetics to the game was rolled out and with Rocksteady no longer updating the game, this is the perfect way to keep the 2015 title feeling fresh.
