After months of speculation, Ubisoft has finally revealed the official name for what was once the codenamed Assassin’s Creed Red.
Assassin’s Creed Red was first announced by Ubisoft in 2022. Due to be set in Feudal Japan, much like 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the game was rumoured to feature two playable protagonists - one possibly based on the real life figure of Yasuke.

Other rumours making the rounds claimed that Assassin’s Creed Red would be retitled Assassin’s Creed Shadows by the time of its release, likely by the end of this year. Well, that name has now been officially confirmed by Ubisoft as we look forward to the debut of Assassin’s Creed Shadows' cinematic trailer tomorrow and possibly, even a release date.

However, we won't have to wait for the elusive release date to reveal itself from beneath the shadows because it has now seemingly leaked online. By now, you’d think that with all the leaks that Ubisoft have had to contend with, it would have at least hired the services of expert plumbers Mario and Luigi.
Well-known video game leaker and news curator Wario64 has tweeted the expected release date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows and it seems to be 15 November 2024. While that release date is plausible, we should take it with a pinch of salt for now.
That being said, we don't have long to wait until the official details are revealed by Ubisoft. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will assumedly be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year.

Then we’ll have even more stealthy goodness to look forward to when the witchcraft-inspired Assassin’s Creed Hexe arrives, potentially in 2026.
We’ll keep you posted when those official details drop.
