Another day, another big change for Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Ubisoft as the company decides to not follow through with its promise to give early access to some customers.
Understandably, fans of the franchise are not happy and they’re being vocal about it.
Will Assassin's Creed Shadows stand up to the competition from Sucker Punch and Sony?
Ubisoft have made a rod for their own backs with this one. It’s clear the game wasn’t ready and this trend of announcing release dates so far in advance has bitten them on the backside.

First, the game got delayed - if it had stuck to schedule it would be out very soon.
Now, Ubisoft has decided not to allow early access to those customers who paid for ultra-fancy limited edition versions of the game.
Fans are being, well, fanatic about this change. Some are being very reasonable, while others are dragging up the cultural and historical details of the game. Again.
“Translation “Our games sucks ass and we wanna by ourselves three more days before we lose our jobs,” says one Twitter user.

Many are now wondering what this means for the deluxe editions of the game. Of course, you get a fancy statue, but many fans buy into these editions for those extra days of playing the game.
“So there's no point of getting the deluxe edition now?” says one fan, while another commented, “Just cancel the game at this point.”
I still hope that when Assassin’s Creed Shadows does finally reach release that it’s as brilliant as it first looked.
However, it seems that this game is generally going to leave a bad taste for many.

Sadness and worry pervade, “We need to be worried about this game?” said one player.
Another commented, “It seems like they are just slowly getting closer and closer to canceling it.”
As well as angry fans complaining they can’t get access from the money they paid, some are now debating if the game can stand up to the recently announced Ghost of Yotei. Only time will tell.
