When Hogwarts Legacy was released, many players wished there could be a magical world based game that perhaps wasn’t related to the Harry Potter franchise. Now their prayers may have been answered thanks to a recent leak that reveals Ubisoft may be working on a Hogwarts Legacy-style RPG.
With the controversy surrounding Hogwarts Legacy, it was perhaps no surprise that many players were not prepared to play it. However, with 99.9% of people wanting to be a wizard at least once in their lives, it is no surprise that games set in magical worlds are highly sought after.

Now it appears as though Ubisoft feel the same as it appears the studio is turning its attention away from the Assassin’s Creed franchise to instead work on a Hogwarts Legacy-style RPG.

This information comes from a leak that suggests Ubisoft Shanghai was hiring for a new AAA Might and Magic title last year. Might and Magic, or Might and Magic: Fates, is the reported name of the new IP and would correspond with Ubisoft registering two new domains last month: mightandmagicfates.com and might-and-magic-fates.com.
Additionally, the job listing called for a World Director for an “open-world game”. “As a World Director, you are in charge of crafting the world of Might & Magic,” the job listing reads. “The physical shape, the composition and density of objects, activities, NPCs, etc. all to the service of the best game experience.”
There is a second job listing that searches for a Senior Brand Manager for Might and Magic which reads: “Ubisoft Shanghai is looking for a Senior Brand Manager to champion the brand marketing and product marketability of a new Might & Magic AAA game. Under the management of the Brand director, join an ambitious team and help reinvent one the biggest Fantasy franchise in video game history.”
For those who think Might and Magic sounds familiar, you would be correct. Might and Magic was a series of RPG titles which ran from 1986 to 2014 and has since remained dormant. Perhaps until now!
