It seems that fans of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series may be getting their wish as the original game in the franchise looks set for a new-gen remake.
Fans have been calling for Ubisoft to remake the original Assassin’s Creed for years and to this day, fans are still baffled that it hasn't happened yet. I even expressed my desire for the first Assassin’s Creed to be remade from the ground up for PC and modern consoles recently.
Check out the 2007 Assassin’s Creed trailer below!
The original Assassin’s Creed was released in 2007 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and it proved to be a huge hit for Ubisoft. Since that time, the series has grown bigger with each release and this year, we’re expecting Assassin’s Creed Red to be the next arrival followed by the witchcraft-inspired Assassin’s Creed Hexe.

However, Ubisoft still has big plans for the series beyond Assassin’s Creed Hexe. As reported by Insider Gaming, Ubisoft is expected to make big announcements during its Ubisoft Forward event on 10 June 2024.
Tom Henderson claims that not only is a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in the works (something that has been speculated already) but the OG will also receive the same treatment starring protagonist Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad.
Henderson also claims that the remake of the original Assassin’s Creed will be released towards the end of this decade meaning that we could wait another six years for its arrival. Obviously, that feels like a long way off right now, but it’s also nice to know that this remake isn't being rushed and hopefully, the same goes for the Black Flag remake.
At this time, we should take all unconfirmed reports with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, with a bit of luck, Ubisoft will reveal all next month.
