Assassin’s Creed is due to release later this year, although we still don’t know exactly when. Assumedly, that date will be unveiled at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward on 13 June.
It looks as if Ubisoft are set to return to annual Assassin’s Creed releases, following the cancellation of three unannounced games amidst a difficult financial year. After Mirage, we already know about Codename Red, Codename Hexe, and Codename Jade. When it comes to Mirage, it looks as if stealth gameplay is set to make a return. Featuring Valhalla’s Basim, the game will be sent in ninth century Baghdad and utilise some of Unity’s parkour system. Fans are impressed with the first bit of leaked gameplay - and now, we have some inkling of what the game’s map will be like.
Take a look at the trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage below.
As reported by AltChar, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature a much smaller map than both Valhalla and Odyssey, which I’m sure will come as a relief to everyone. The discovery was supposedly made by YouTuber j0nathan, although he didn’t explain the source of his information. The YouTuber does claim though that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is believed to be around 15 hours long, with a map similar in size to Paris in Unity or London in Syndicate.

The story reportedly begins when Basim moves to Baghdad. The YouTuber also touches on the emphasis on stealth combat, something we already knew. It’s believed Mirage will have a Reputation system, and there will be very few modern references. Finally, a release date of 12 October was thrown around.
Of course, this is all completely unconfirmed by Ubisoft so take all leaks with a major pinch of salt. With the Ubisoft Forward just around the corner though, we’re due some official news soon.
