Assassin’s Creed fans should check out Tales of Kenzera: Zau, an upcoming Metroidvania-style side-scrolling action-adventure with an interesting voice actor at the helm.
Tales of Kenzera: Zau is getting ready for its full launch in April and players are excited to get their hands on the latest Metroidvania-style side-scroller. However, what is drawing people to it even more is its developer, Abubakar Salim who you may know best as the voice of Bayek in Assassin's Creed Origins.

This debut game from Salim is being developed by his Surgent Studios home and will be published by EA ready for a 23 April launch.
Tales of Kenzera: Zau was first announced by a teary-eyed Salim at the 2023 Game Awards where the voice actor-turned-developer paid tribute to his late father. "For a long time," he explained, "I've struggled to find a way of communicating my journey with grief. To now be able to do that through Zau's story of loss, growth and healing in Tales of Kenzera: Zau feels so right."
The story itself follows Zau, a young shaman who bargains with the God of death to bring his Baba back from the darkness. Inspired by African Bantu tales, the game will task you with helping Zau reclaim his father’s spirit and we can already tell that it is going to be an emotional journey.
For those who can’t wait until April, Tales of Kenzera: Zau now has a demo available on Steam ahead of its full launch for the PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch. The demo includes the game’s first two sections, giving player’s their first look at Zau’s abilities and skill set. Additionally, if you find yourself wanting to pre-order, there is a 10% discount also available on Steam.
