We’ve all wondered what it would be like living the life of an assassin with incredible parkour skills, right? In a virtual sense, I mean.
Thankfully, if you’ve ever wondered what it would be like climbing walls, running across rooftops and taking out assigned targets from above, the recently announced VR game Assassin’s Creed Nexus will let you live out that dream. That being said, I can’t guarantee that I wouldn't throw up performing a Leap of Faith in virtual reality.
Take a look at the trailer for Nexus below.
While we’re yet to see any gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Nexus, the CGI trailer at Ubisoft Forward revealed that Ezio Auditore, Connor (AC3), and Kassandra (AC Odyssey) will feature in three unique stories set across three time periods. The premise of the game will also take place around a modern-day Abstergo.

We also know that those time periods are 15th-century Italy (Ezio), the US revolution in the 18th century for Connor, and 400 BC Greece for Kassandra. However, it's the timeline of the legendary Ezio Auditore that is the topic of discussion for today.
A fan on Reddit believes that Ezio’s story in Assassin’s Creed Nexus will be set at some point after Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. So, could we be told more of the story of what Ezio was up to in between AC Brotherhood and AC Revelations? “Ezio’s story in Assassin’s Creed Nexus is hinted at being set post-brotherhood,” posted Redditor KingCanmore. The Redditor believed this to be true judging by the attire that Ezio was wearing during the VR reveal trailer and how much his face appears to have aged.
It seems that this Redditor was almost spot on. Ezio’s story will be set post-Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Since the time of this initial Reddit post, Ubisoft has confirmed that Ezio’s story in Assassin’s Creed Nexus is set in 1509, just a couple of years after the events of Brotherhood.

So there you have it, story details on Ezio’s tale in Assassin’s Creed Nexus may still be vague at this time, but at least we know exactly when his story will be set. Assassin’s Creed Nexus will be released on Meta Quest VR later this year.
In related news, during the same Ubisoft Forward event, we not only got to see more gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Mirage but also Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, which you can play early for free, no strings attached.
