There are many reasons why fans cannot get enough of the Assassin’s Creed series and one of those reasons is due to the loveable and charismatic protagonist, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
The Assassin’s Creed series made its debut in 2007 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The original Assassin’s Creed wasn't a perfect game mechanically, but its combat and parkour gameplay would lay the foundations of the Ubisoft series for years to come. When the first sequel arrived in 2009 with Assassin’s Creed II, we were introduced to Ezio Auditore, who would later star in two more sequels, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

In 2016 we were treated to Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection which included the three aforementioned games in the series starring Ezio Auditore with improved visuals, performances and all previously released DLC. In truth, the remastered collection was initially released in a poor state with below-par visuals and performance. Thankfully, those issues are now mostly fixed and if you can play this collection on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, it’s an absolute joy and the best way to play the classic Ezio titles, at least on consoles.

That being said, if you can play Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection on PC, you can enjoy the added benefits of community mods which implement all kinds of improvements and new features that may have not been available in the official release. One such mod is created by Shazzam (not the DC character, probably) and it improves on the official remaster in almost every way, and it’s free to download now via Nexusmods.
Rather than the mod creator developing a new mod from scratch, this “Community Edition” mod takes all the best mods from the community (hence the name) and implements them to your copy of Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection with ease and the results are beautiful.
As with the nature of most mods, this mod is only available on PC, but as I said, this remastered collection is fantastic to play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
