I can't quite believe I'm writing these words, but Age Of Mythology is finally getting a proper remake!
The fantasy-focused cousin of Age Of Empires has never really been shown as much love as the series it span off from, but it's an amazing game with a huge cult following. It's absolutely fantastic news, then, to learn that it's being revived in the form of a definitive edition.
Take a look at the reveal trailer below!

Age Of Mythology Retold will do for Age Of Mythology what the previously released Definitive Editions of Age Of Empires and its sequel did for those original games. Basically, expect quality-of-life tweaks, enhanced visuals, new features, and other fun surprises along the way.
"We know that the Age of Mythology community has been hopefully waiting for a Definitive Edition, and we'll be delivering," developer World's Edge's wrote in a blog post. "We're working hard to bring you the glory of the original game with updated graphics, features and more."

Released way back in 2002, Age Of Mythology shares the same basic DNA as the rest of the Empires game. The twist, as I'm sure you've probably already worked out, is that it takes its inspirations from the likes of Greek, Egyptian, and Norse mythology, rather than actual historical events. It was a huge success back in the day, shifting over 1 million copies after just four months.
Those attached to the Age franchise (both Empires and Mythology) have been saying for years now that they'd love to bring back the latter. It seems they finally got their wish.
During the same broadcast, Microsoft also confirmed the previously leaked news that Age Of Empires II Definitive Edition and Age Of Empires IV will be coming to Xbox next year.
