When you've saved the galaxy from planet-devouring monsters, you've more than earned a drink. You're spoiled for choice when it comes to loot of a more liquid and spiritual nature out in the Borderlands, such as grabbing a pint of Rakk ale, enjoying a meal with a classy Moxxtail, or seeing if your organs can survive a few rounds with Crazy Ear's Dixie Wrecked Brand Moonshine. All are all fantastic options – especially when you need to drown out the voice of Claptrap.
Or if you're looking for a more familiar beverage to introduce your favourite Vault Hunter to, you could try Mad Moxxi’s new bar favourite – Moxxi’s Bar Edition, a limited-edition bottle of Ballantine's Scotch whisky. The iconic bar mogul is launching her very own whisky as part of her latest venture with Ballantine’s, who’ve hired her as Chief Galactic Expansion Officer to help expand the Scotch’s intergalactic footprint across the cosmos.
Forget about those Eridian vaults, because Ballantine's and Moxxi will even offer limited-edition loot that rivals the planetary accomplishments of the Eridians, as the bottle grants access to exclusive Borderlands 3 content. The renowned Underdome hostess is also recruiting a squad of streamers called Moxxi’s Finest, who will receive exclusives and take part in monthly Borderlands challenges.

If a Skag ate your PC – which is surprisingly common – and you're wondering who Moxxi is, here's a quick breakdown. First appearing in the Underdome DLC for the original Borderlands, Moxxi quickly became a fan-favourite character and would become a regular giver of side-quests in several other Borderlands games. In Borderlands 3, Moxxi even recruits you as part of her crew for one final revenge mission against the deceased Handsome Jack, putting together a heist to rob the former Hyperion CEO's luxurious casino. Moxxi's always armed with a Maliwan SMG in one hand, a double entendre in the other, and she knows how to use both of them to devastating effect.
"A good partnership balances business and pleasure in equal measure," says Moxxi. "And ours got off to a sweet start. George Ballantine came over to my place with a blush-worthy proposition. He offered me my own special run of bottles. I call it, 'Moxxi's Bar Edition’. Get your hands on one of them, sugar, they'll treat you right. Like the best things in life, it goes down smooth."

“We've been following Moxxi's adventures in Pandora for some time now and are delighted to have such an infamous entrepreneur on board,” Ballantine's Marketing Director, Mathieu Deslandes said. “Her handling of the Heist of the Handsome Jackpot was second to none and her impressive hostessing of the Underdome Riot is not easily forgotten. I have no doubt Moxxi will help catapult Ballantine's to galactic heights and encourage Vault Hunters to stay true to themselves.”
Whether you're a Vault Hunter, the last robot from an aggravating line of mechanical chatterboxes, or even a bandit who's obsessed with the concept of meat-bicycles, you can keep up to date by connecting with Moxxi on LinkedIn and Twitter. Stay tuned to hear more about how Moxxi’s role as Ballantine’s CGEO plays out across several phases – and maybe even score an orange-tier bottle of the new whisky in the process. Bottles are available now, from this link.
Or you can keep an eye on Ballantine's Twitter and website for more details. Just don’t overdo it, yeah? For the facts: drinkaware.
